An early reader and lover of literature and visual arts, my childhood dream was to be a ballerina and performer. My first theatrical experience was in the role of Gretel in a Durham, North Carolina community theater performance of Hansel and Gretel. The highlight for me was singing The Evening Prayer (The Children’s Prayer) a duet. I enjoyed private art lessons, and in high school art and theater that continued at Austin College in the 70s.

50 years later I am once again making art with photography, collage, water color, gouache, acrylics, and mixed media. I am leaving open the possibility of performance arts.

I am a mixed media artist, writer, vocalist. My art comes from curiosity and problem solving about organic and digital systems, light and movement.

I’m inspired by the Impressionists, Pointillists, and other modern artists including Gustav Klimt, Georges Seurat, Piet Mondrian, Georgia O’Keefe, Grandma Moses, and the many artistic artisans and cultures of Appalachia and the coastal South.
