American Tall Tales Reception + Artwork & Supplies Trade

Do you have any extra artworks or art supplies, or are you looking to pick some up? Do you want to catch a special one-week-only art exhibition while you still can? Do you like free food and wine? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes,” come to 517 Gallery on Saturday, April 12 from 4-6 p.m. to fulfill your heart’s desire.

This is not just an art & supplies trade; it’s also a social event where you can mingle with artists and art enthusiasts– not to mention it’s the ONE AND ONLY reception for a limited-time solo exhibition, American Tall Tales: The Works of Patience Newsom.

Don’t miss out! Get some clutter off your hands, pick up something new, and catch an amazing exhibition before it’s gone, courtesy of 517 Gallery and your own Denison community.

Visitors are responsible for their items. 517 Gallery asks that you do not leave behind any extra materials you brought after the event is over.
More details below.
  • The planned event is an art & supplies trade. Artists, collectors, etc. are invited to bring any artworks or materials that they are willing to trade or give away. It is similar to a neighborhood flea market.
  • American Tall Tales will be open for viewing at this time. Free food and wine will be provided and music will be playing; one does not need to bring items to trade in order to enjoy the reception. It is also a social event for artists, council members, and other visitors to mingle.
  • Table space will be available to place items up for grabs; no wall space will be allotted.
  • Visitors are responsible for transporting, arranging, & keeping track of their own items.
  • 517 Gallery will not be responsible for handling trades or sales; any exchange of artworks, supplies, or legal tender is up to the visitors.
  • Visitors are asked to bring any remaining items home at the end of the reception, as 517 Gallery has limited storage space. The gallery will not keep artworks or materials left behind.
