Le Salon des Artistes

Fall 2025 marks the inaugural Le Salon des Artistes hosted by the Denison Arts Council. The juried exhibition and competition are intended to draw on the history and mystique of the original Le Salon des Artistes, a series of prestigious exhibitions which began in Paris , France in 1667. The Denison Arts Council hopes to celebrate in the same grand fashion with its first-ever juried competition.

This year’s competition will have numerous awards totaling $2,500. The official call for art will begin this summer and all entries will be due September 15 in the Zapp application online. The Salon opens to the public the first weekend in October at the 517 Gallery located in historic downtown Denison, TX. This event will be held in conjunction with the annual Denison Fall Fest.

September 17- Application Deadline
September 20- Artists Notified if Accepted
September 24-25- Artists Drop off Work at 517 Gallery (10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)
September 26-October 2- Show Setup (Volunteers Appreciated!)
October 3- Opening Reception & Artist Awards
October 11- 2nd Reception
November 8- 3rd Reception
November 15-16- Artists Pick up Work from 517 Gallery (10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)
